Sustainability at BreakFree Peninsula

At Breakfree Peninsula on the Gold Coast, Sustainability is at the core of our operations. We understand that sustainability is an evolving journey and are dedicated to continuously reducing our carbon footprint.

Here’s a glimpse into the initiatives we’ve implemented to support our commitment:

Dry Amenities

We are proud to share our proactive approach to minimizing single-use plastics in our guest rooms. By eliminating single-use dry amenities such as individually wrapped soaps and shower caps, we are taking significant strides towards a plastic-free environment and reducing our environmental impact.

Large Amenities

In line with our sustainability efforts, we have transitioned to large-format, eco-friendly pump dispensers for our common amenities. This change replaces single-use plastic bottles and significantly cuts down on waste, demonstrating our commitment to environmental stewardship and ongoing sustainability improvements throughout the hotel.

Recycling

At Breakfree Peninsula, we have robust recycling practices in place to manage waste effectively and support a circular economy.

Community Support

We believe in strengthening our ties with the local community and giving back whenever we can:

  • Unclaimed Lost & Found items are regularly donated to local Op Shops to support community initiatives.
  • During refurbishments, Manchester items like blankets are donated to AWLQ for continued use.

Acknowledgement of Country

The team at Breakfree Peninsula acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we operate, the Kombumerri people. We pay our respects to their Elders, past and present.

Accessibility

Inclusivity is essential at Breakfree Peninsula. While we currently do not have dedicated accessible rooms, we warmly welcome guests with assistance dogs. Our well-trained staff are prepared to assist guests with additional needs both before and during their stay.
